3.7g, 18mm This is a very high quality silver denarius of Emperor Tiberius. This is the same coin that Christ would have referred to in Luke 20:24. When asked about paying taxes to the Roman government, Christ said "Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it?" Pontif Maxim in front and seated Livia reverse. A denarius was a day's wage for a sosldier or common laborer. Emperior Tiberius ruled from 14-37AD. Christ's earthly ministry was for 3 years from 27-30AD.
