This is a fun-filled category, with many useful items, too!

For the chess player, we have chess sets in boxwood and ebony and some in ivory. Some are marked Staunton sets and some are Staunton pattern. If you’re in need of a games board, we have several in stock in various sizes – either inlaid wood or reverse-painted glass. The games boards can also add a nice decorative touch to a den or game room when hung on the wall like a picture.

We have unusual antique games such as ‘Yellow Dwarf’, complete with instructions and games pieces, and games wheels for a Regency-era card game called ‘Pope Joan’. We also have miniature croquet sets - for a Victorian-era game played on a table, complete with mallets, balls, etc

A games compendiums is complete with chess sets, checquers and backgammon pieces. Also with this is a folding reversible games board, cards, games counters and markers, dice, etc. All housed in a handsome mahogany case, with interior fitted to hold all the games pieces. Some smaller games sets include chess sets, checquers and cribbage.

Some small games markers include whist and trump markers. Trump markers have become a reasonably priced item to collect in various designs, as well as use for bridge games. The antique mother-of-pearl games counters are from China, in various shapes and with different engraved designs, some with monograms.
